Corporate bank account opening

A licence without a bank account is a piece of paper.

Opening a corporate account in the UAE is a compliance decision, not an administrative one. The bank is deciding whether it wants the risk of your business, and it will usually decline without giving a reason.

What the bank is actually testing

Whether the story holds together

The licensed activity, the shareholders' backgrounds, the expected turnover, the countries money moves between, and the first transactions all have to describe the same business. Applications fail on contradiction, not on paperwork.

A consultancy licence that receives large inbound payments from a jurisdiction the owner has no connection to will be refused, however neatly the forms are filled in. So will a trading licence whose stated turnover does not match the size of its first shipment.

Zone matters

Where you registered decides how hard this is

This is the single most useful thing to know before you choose a free zone, and it is almost never mentioned until after the licence has been paid for.

How banks read the zoneZonesTypical outcome
Readily accepted DMCC · DIFC · ADGM Broadest choice of banks, shortest questions
Generally accepted JAFZA · DAFZA · DWTC · Dubai Internet City Straightforward with a clean profile
Workable, fewer banks IFZA · Meydan · RAKEZ · SHAMS Two to six weeks, usually through a smaller panel of banks
Difficult Ajman Free Zone · SAIF Zone Expect refusals without explanation. Choose the zone with this in mind, not after

How we work

One well-aimed application, not five hopeful ones

What we prepare
Corporate documents, shareholder profiles, source-of-funds narrative, business plan, expected transaction flows and named counterparties.
Bank matching
We route the application to banks with appetite for your activity and nationality mix, rather than applying everywhere and collecting refusals. Each refusal makes the next application harder, because refusals are visible to other banks through shared screening.
Timeline
Two to six weeks is normal. Offshore entities and higher-risk activities take longer.
Digital banks
Where a traditional bank is slow or unwilling, a UAE digital business bank often opens faster with different limits and services. We explain the trade-off rather than defaulting to one.
After opening
More accounts are lost to a freeze after opening than to a refusal at application. Keeping the activity, the invoices and the transaction pattern consistent with what the bank was told is what keeps one open.
We do not guarantee an account. No consultant honestly can — the decision sits with the bank's compliance committee. What we can do is stop an application failing for avoidable reasons, and tell you before you pay anything if we think the profile will not pass.

Describe the money flows and we will tell you which banks will take them.
